What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We handle all private personal information data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will never disclose or sell any personal information we have about you to any other persons/ business. We will only ever disclose data to third parties when we are obliged to do so by law.
Orders
When you place an order on Foraging.co.uk we require your full name, telephone number, email address, billing address, delivery address (if different to billing address), so we can process your order. This information will be stored in a secure server, which can only be accessed by the website administrators.
Payment details
PayPal is our secure online payment provider, this means that when you pay for an order on Foraging.co.uk your payment and your payment details are taken by PayPal.
Foraging.co.uk does not have access to your your payment details and therefore does not store them. In the event of a refund we do this through PayPal who will return the payment to your PayPal account or debit/credit card. You can view PayPal’s privacy policy here.
Comments/Reviews
When visitors leave comments/reviews on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here.
After approval of your comment, your Foraging.co.uk account profile picture (if you have set one) is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
When you contact us through our online contact form on the contact us page of this site, we receive an email. This email will contain your message and your email address. We will only ever use this information to respond to your enquiry.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Your contact information
We may use your contact information to contact you about your order, or its delivery. We may also need to pass some of your contact information on to third party couriers to fulfill delivery of your order. We will send out automated emails in relation to your order, including order confirmation and notification of dispatch emails.
We will not send out any emails which do not relate directly to your order unless you sign up to our mailing list.
